How I Work…
Each person is an individual, and the decision about the most appropriate therapy to support someone is based on each person’s needs and issues. This is provided in a non-judgemental, supportive and confidential space. Drawing on experience and skills rather than a one-size-fits-all we can work together to discuss therapy goals based on a range of research-based methods. These are tailored to you and ensure the process is a collaborative one. This can be short or long term. Many people have insights into their issues yet remain stuck. Psychological input can move you forward.
This might include CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to reframe ways of thinking and change negative thoughts or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to further change cycles of thinking. Person centred counselling can be incorporated to support change and awareness and provide deeper insight. While the use of IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Therapy), is particularly useful for traumatic events or to break through a cycle of behaviour and can provide a rapid and effective tool. Mindfulness can also be used to combat stress and insomnia and for ongoing awareness and relaxation.
